Audio or Sound not Working

What if a witness’ microphone/audio is not working?

Note: If they cannot hear you, use the chat to follow these troubleshooting steps.

  1. Confirm the are connected to audio in the Zoom call
    1. Ask them to check the bottom left corner where their audio is. If there is a button that prompts them to connect to audio, have them click that button and allow permissions.
  2. Confirm they are using the correct speaker/microphone
    1. Ask them to click the arrow next to the Mute/Unmute button. There they should see all the audio options Zoom has to connect.
    2. Ask them to confirm they are connected to the correct speakers.
  3. Confirm they have not muted themselves or their computer
  4. Suggest they leave the call and come back
  5. Suggest they reenter the call with a different device
  6. Suggest for them to call into the meeting using the phone number (See join information section above)

Always remember: As a neutral third party, you must allow counsel to decide amongst themselves how to proceed when there is any objection. You are welcome to offer solutions if asked, but allow counsels to discuss together and come to a conclusion themselves.
