What is an Examination Under Oath (EUO)?


An Examination Under Oath (EUO) is a legal proceeding that is scheduled by an insurance company for the purpose of asking a witness questions under oath in regards to an insurance claim.

The testimony is used when investigating potentially fraudulent insurance claims.

Who participates in an EUO?


Mandatory Participants

  • Digital Reporter
  • Witness
  • Representative from an insurance company (typically an investigator / attorney)

Optional Participants

  • Interpreter
  • Guardian (if witness is a minor)
  • Legal representation for the witness

The typical pay rate for an EUO is $22/hour
