Booking Events in Other States

Out-of-State Event Booking

Our system allows for out-of-state booking to help ensure balanced scheduling and consistent event volume for Digital Reporters. If an event is not booked by a reporter located in the same state where it is taking place, it will automatically open to reporters in other states.

Identifying the Event’s State

You can determine the state of an event by reviewing the event details. When you click on an event, look for the information displayed next to the 🌐 symbol.

(Example: In the image below, the event is taking place in New York.)

On-the-Record Procedure

You do not need to adjust your approach when handling an out-of-state event. The standard opening paragraph used when going on the record includes your jurisdiction and gives attendees the opportunity to raise any objections or concerns.
