How do I make someone a host or co-host?
Assign a Co-host During a Meeting
- Start the meeting as the host.
- Open the Participants panel.
- Hover over the participant’s name (desktop) or tap it (mobile).
- Click More (three dots).
- Choose Make Co-host.
- Confirm when prompted.
The participant now has co-host privileges but cannot start/end meetings, they can only help manage them.
What Co-hosts Can Do
- Manage participants (mute/unmute, remove, rename).
- Start/stop recordings (cloud or local, depending on settings).
- Manage polls and breakout rooms (in most plans).
- Share screen or control who can share.
- Help admit people from the waiting room.
How to assign someone as host during a meeting
- Start the meeting as the host.
- Open the Participants panel.
- Find the name of the participant you want to make host. Hover over it (on desktop) or tap it (on mobile).
- Click or tap More (or the three dots).
- Select Make Host. Confirm if prompted. The new person becomes host, and the old host loses host privileges.
What Hosts Can Do
A host has full control of the meeting. They can:
- Start and end the meeting for everyone.
- Assign co-hosts or transfer host role.
- Mute/unmute participants individually or all at once.
- Manage breakout rooms.
- Control screen sharing settings.
- Lock the meeting or enable the waiting room.
- Start/stop recordings.
- Remove participants if needed.
